I think I have found my true calling! At the winter carnival in St Paul next month, there is going to be a Hotdish Challenge!! Participants are encouraged to send their favorite (only?) hotdish recipe into the contest, and the best 3 will be judged by local radio personalities - with one walking away with the 'Best Hotdish' title. Heady stuff...
In other news, I will be going ice fishing for the first time (EVER!) sometime in the next month. I want you all to know I love you and will miss you, should I fall through the ice to a cold death. Poor fish. I'm really just going for an excuse to drink!

Can I start off by asking a stupid question.... what is 'hotdish'?
'Hotdish' is MNspeak for a casserole. And to further your education, 'bars' is anything dessert-y that you can cut into squares (brownies, rice krispie treats, lemon squares, etc.).
